This volume, the first monograph on the territory of central Europe concerning archaeological application of ALS, represents the first complete report about the incorporation of airborne lidar data into the practice of archaeology in the Czech Republic. In addition to a few contributions by Czech and Moravian professional archaeologists most of the chapters published in it represent results of research carried out by PhD. students of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, one of the associated members of ArcLand. The variability of the projects in terms of various types of earthworks, often analyzed with the assistance of old maps and other historical documents, and supported by ground based survey, makes this volume attractive for archaeologists, historical geographers and heritage managers.
